Feb Mr. Morgan's stroke and semi-retirement from taiko
April Tucson Pima Arts Council awards $600 mini-grant to help cover cost of drum building
Apr-May Tony Trapasso of Fushicho Daiko teaches us to build our first drums, Ki and Osu
May With Ki and Osu finished and Karen's first beta stands, Odaiko Sonora is officially founded
July First performance at Challenger Summer School Program. Rome, Karen, and Kristina do 30 minute set and short Q&A with 30 6–10 year olds.
July-Aug Esther Vandecar of Fushicho Daiko leads a 5-week beginning taiko workshop in Tucson at Zuzi's Little Theatre. The workshop culminates with a short taiko concert by new players

Odaiko Sonora's "Tucson Taiko Juku" classes begin with 5 students

March We bring Tiffany Tamaribuchi to Tucson for a weekend of workshops and concert at the San Xavier District of the Tohono O'odham Nation
June First collaborative performance with O-T-O Dance at their "Baked Apple" show
July Karen finishes Aka-chan, a chu-daiko, the first drum made without major assistance from Tony
Sept We incorporates in the State of AZ; Three founding board members are Mari Kaneta, Ofelia Lichtenheld and To-Reé-Neé Wolf Keiser

2004

 
Jan Our first one-hour taiko-based diversity and leadership session for UA Center for Student Leadership Student Retreat
Feb We obtain non-profit status; board expands to include Eric Lichtenheld and Min Yanagihashi
Feb First collaborative performance with Fushicho Daiko at Matsuri: A Festival of Japan in Phoenix
March We work with Fushicho Daiko to bring Suigun Daiko, a youth taiko group from Matsuyama, Japan to Tucson. The kids perform at Park Place Mall and do a short performance and cultural exchange with students from the San Xavier Mission School.
May We bring PJ Hirabayashi and Wisa Uemura from San Jose Taiko for a weekend of workshops
May The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona awards a $1500 Developing Arts Group grant from
June The Arizona Commission on the Arts awards $1800 for the 2005 Southern AZ Taiko Showcase
Aug First Taiko Team Building session for employees of ACCO in Nogales, Sonora
Sept First auditions held for new performing members; performing ensemble expands to 6
Oct First original song, "Cucuy Bayashi," premieres at Tucson Meet Yourself
Oct Construction of Odaiko completed, with advice from Mr. Morgan

Jan We partner with Flam Chen, Krispy Kreme Donuts, and other artists to hold a benefit concert for Tsunami victims, raising over $4,000 in one night
March OS brings Yoshikazu Fujimoto and Masami Miyazaki of KODO Arts Sphere America for evening workshop
March Application for General Operating Support grants from ACA and Tucson Pima Arts Council
March Mary Kay Le Fevour, Executive Director of the Society for Ecological Restoration, joins the Board of Directors
March OS invited by Flam Chen to participate in Creative City 2nd Annual Warehouse Artists Concert
May First Southern AZ Taiko Showcase, with Odaiko Sonora , Fushicho, and Sac Taiko. Sac Taiko also does concert at San Xavier, and Tiffany does workshops.
June First full-length concert as featured artists, Marana Arts Council Heritage Performing Arts Series
