Odaiko Sonora Nov. '09 Update

From left: it's all just in our imagination as we face the empty stage; important to all taiko endeavors is adequate snack; Odaiko Sonora dancers block out movement on stage; then we add the magic of lights, sound, choreography and fog... and it's Taiko Plus! time.

We had forgotten...

After two years of not producing our own concert event, we forgot how much work goes into the project. The Monday load-in, Tuesday tech, Wednesday dress rehearsal and several hours of extra troubleshooting—not to mention the performances themselves—total a staggering 26 hours on top of our regular jobs and lives this week! Add the months of preparation, visioning, meetings and extra rehearsals and practices, and it's mind-boggling how much time, effort, energy and passion go into a simple two hour concert.

We know you'll be proud of your little taiko-group-that-can when you see Taiko Plus! The Stevie Eller Theatre is small and ticket are going fast! Make sure you get yours online at brownpapertickets.com (by 8am Friday morning for the Friday show, and by 7am Sunday morning for the Sunday show, after which online sales cease). Or swing by Antigone Books ASAP to get your tickets in person. We have a feeling we may have a full house!

See you there!
